Eric Weisbrod is an award-winning digital and social media strategist and leader with nearly two decades of experience working at the intersection of journalism, social media, broadcast and technology.
With previous roles at CNN, Facebook, and several startups, Weisbrod specializes in developing and executing multi-platform strategies focused on news and storytelling, audience growth and engagement, marketing and revenue growth, and workflow efficiency.
He is co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Zivvy News, where he leads the content, innovation, and business strategy for the Gen Z news outlet focused on Instagram and TikTok.
While at Facebook and Tagboard, Weisbrod worked with dozens of high-profile media organizations, building relationships, negotiating major content deals and helping them grow their businesses and audiences.
As the director of social media for CNN Worldwide, he led the audience engagement and social publishing strategies across CNN's digital and off-platform properties. His Social TV team identified key moments from CNN's live programming to publish across CNN's flagship social media accounts. Weisbrod also trained staff company-wide on social media best practices and worked individually with CNN’s anchors and correspondents on developing customized social media strategies. Weisbrod's work at CNN has earned him Emmy, Webby, Murrow, Shorty and Eppy awards.
He resides outside of Boston, MA with his wife and two boys.
